Turns Out Sunglasses Have One AMAZING Hidden Benefit

If you're anything like us then sunglasses are your go-to accessory during the summer time. You probably have 20 pairs. You are probably broke because of it.

But aside from looking ace and shielding your eyes from the burning sun, your shades actually have another benefit that you'd probably never even realised.

People Magazine have put together a guide to making the most of your sunglasses this summer, and one of the points has us glueing our shades permanently to our heads.

According to Sunglasses Hut VP of Product Jill Waters, wearing your sunglasses even when it is cloudy can have a hidden benefit for your body.

"UV rays can pierce through clouds causing harmful glare and affect our eyes," she says. "It's important to find sunglasses with UVA/UVB protection or try polarized lenses that virtually eliminate bright light from reflective surfaces and changes how you see.

"Plus, sunglasses help eliminate squinting on those cloudy days too, which means fewer wrinkles and crow's feet."

Yes, you heard it right - your sunglasses are basically anti wrinkle cream only SO much more attractive.

Dermatologist Vivian Bucay told Allure that the type of sunglasses you wear is also important. Metal frames on most aviators  "reflect sunlight on the tops of the cheeks, causing them to burn," she says, so opting for plastic sunglasses is better for your skin.

What else? Well, the more glass there is, the more skin you're protecting, so if you want to avoid wrinkles for longer go for a pair of oversized frames.

Happy shopping!
