Say Hello to India's YOUNGEST Pilot

Here's the inspiring story of a dreamer and believer, Ayesha Aziz, the youngest pilot in the country...and got her student pilot license when she was just 16!

It all started when she used to visit her hometown Kashmir twice or thrice a year with her family, and every time the plane took off or landed, she was bouncing with happiness. Soon, her fascination turned into her passion, and Ayesha decided to chase her dream of becoming a pilot, doing her schoolwork side-by-side.  After finishing the 10th grade, Ayesha cleared the exam for student pilot licence in November 2011 and later, obtained Flight Radio Telephone Operator's Licence (FRTOL).

Ayesha was also selected by a NASA panel for space-training programme, and got the opportunity to meet John MacBride, a former NASA astronaut. During her two month stay in Alabama, she did her advanced training at NASA's Space Academy, Huntsville, in space-shuttle mission, micro-gravity, Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU), multi-axis training and Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA).

But her dream came true when she got the opportunity to interact with Sunita Williams. She said in an interview, "I met her when she came to Worli in 2013 or 2014. I shared my experiences with her. I told her about the activities I participated in NASA like scuba diving, moon walk and bunny walk which an astronaut should know."

She currently flies single engine Cessna 152  and Cessna172, plus—she's done a bunch of cool, mag photoshoots and a commercial for Whisper. You go, baby!
