Seeing as we almost hate participating in a public display of affection (PDA) more than watching a PDA (well, almost...), our goodbye kisses are usually short in length with minimal contact between parties, but what actually is the ideal length of a kiss?
According to this study, it's 12 seconds – which seems like a bloody long time if you ask us.
To calculate the optimum length of a kiss, Virgin Atlantic held a live experiment on Facebook, posting a video of a woman and a man kissing at the airport.
They asked participating viewers to send a shocked emoji at the moment that thought marked the ideal moment to end the kiss – which was 12 seconds in.
Considering the Kiss and Fly experiment video had over 36,000 views and 628 reactions, a fair amount of people got involved in the study and shared their thoughts on the ideal length of a kiss – but it is down to personal opinion, rather than any scientific proof or otherwise.
Still, pretty interesting, huh?
Virgin Atlantic has introduced a unique parking service; kiss&fly. This free, hour-long parking short stay facility is available exclusively for the airline's customers to Gatwick's North Terminal.
