This Ted Talk About Teaching Girls Not to Be Perfect is the Best Thing You'll See Today

Reshma Saujani, the founder of non-profit organisation- Girls Who Code, that aims to support and increase the number of females in the tech world, recently gave a powerful speech at Ted Conference in Canada.

She talked about the gender bias that exists in the field of technology and discussed how girls are taught to smile pretty, play it safe, get all A's and on the other hand, boys are taught to play rough, swing high, crawl to the top of the monkey bars and then jump off head first!

She recounted her own experience of running for elections in 2010 in New York despite meagre chances of winning and getting defeated. But she promptly explained that the entire experience taught her about not being 'perfect' for the thing but just to be 'brave' enough to attempt it.

After loosing, she founded Girls Who Code to teach girls how to code and socialise them to accept their imperfections, and be courageous enough to follow their inner calling!
