This Is What the World Would Look Like If Gender Roles Were Reversed

Sally Hansen is taking a new stance when it comes to beauty, and it's all about being self-made — hence the debut of its first-ever global brand campaign, "Shetopia" — which, according to the brand, is "a vision of the world made by and for Self-Made Women."

Inspired by Sally Hansen (yes, she's a real person!), who was a stylish and self-made businesswoman herself, this cheeky interpretation of a female-driven reality portrays a world in which gender norms don't exist. The campaign, according to SH, also highlights the progressive views Hansen had, and features nine other women like her, from activists to athletes, who are all doing life their way.

The inspiring women shown in the video are as follows:

Katie Sturino, a hilarious blogger who challenges traditional fashion rules and promotes self-acceptance of all body sizes.

Directed by commercial and music video director Natalie Rae — with the music for written by self-made singer-songwriter Diana Gordon (she's known for her feminist lyrics and worked with Beyoncé on the singer's Lemonade album) — the video is meant to encourage other women, a brand rep told Cosmopolitan.com. "There's something that ties all of these women together," Rae adds. "They bring this sense of confidence and collectivity — a sense of freedom," which Sally Hansen as a brand hopes will further inspire and enable other women to be their best selves and reach their full potential.

Still, although "Shetopia" highlights what many women are already doing — running a press conference, leading a business, and paying the check — the campaign also wants to emphasize that there is still progress to be made.
