15 Things All Perpetually Single Girls Knows to be True

1) Your best friend will go through a heart break, have a wild single phase and get a new boyfriend in the time it takes you to go on a date. But you're not bitter at all.

2) You tell yourself that you're only single because you're picky. You're like one of those sassy ladies. "Some people are settling down, some are settling and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies..." You preach it Carrie.

3) But then you always end up kissing the weirdest person in the club. Drunken hook ups are a totally different thing though… right?

4) You fantasise about getting engaged first. That will wipe the smug grin off that friend who whenever you meet up reminds you what anniversary her and her boyfriend are celebrating. P.S ½s and ¼s are NOT milestones.

5) You friends become your boyfriends. Date nights and slumber parties are still a regular fixture of your social calendar despite your lack of man.

6) And so as a result you can confidently state who will be your bridesmaids, and yet you have absolutely no idea who the groom will be. Or if there will even be a wedding.

7) Tinder has become more of a game than a dating app. You feel like it's time they let you on to the advanced level.

8) You've become a third wheel master, you even have no shame when it comes to intruding on your friend's date nights. After all a girl's got to eat.

9) But then couples become the enemy when you're feeling lonely. Please stop holding hands.

10) When an invite has a plus one, you have palpitations. How do they expect you to magic up a man who is willing to accompany you to a wedding in two months? OPENS TINDER.

11) You have a rehearsed speech for when family members ask why you're single. 'Well Nan since you asked so politely, I'm just focusing on myself at the moment. You know my career is going really well and…'

12) When someone says 'don't worry it will happen' you have to try with all your might not to throw a tantrum. YOU DON'T KNOW ME.

13) Sex deprivation is just a part of everyday life. The bullet was one of your greatest investments.

14) You meet someone for ten minutes and envisage your future together. Then something happens to put you off. Like bad shoes. And just like that, you're forced to return to your maiden name.

15)But most of the time you truly love it. And you know that when love does happen it will just enrich your life rather than make it because you're an independent woman. SO THROW YOUR HANDS UP AT ME.
