4 Photos That Show What Pregnancy Is REALLY Like

When you see pregnancy photos pop up on your Facebook feed, they're usually professionally shot and feature the future mom and dad in a field somewhere, looking blissfully into the distance. There are also usually tiny baby shoes nearby for some reason?  But though it's obviously happy and exciting to have a baby on the way, these images ignore the often, well, inconvenient sides of carrying a child.

In her new series, photographer Danielle Guenther is showing what pregnancy is actually like. The series, called "What the BUMP," features pregnant women living their lives, trying to do normal things like exercise, take care of their kids, and get through work without succumbing to morning sickness.

"Looking back from my own experience seven years ago, there are so many challenges growing a baby for months on end," Guenther tells Cosmopolitan.com. "I'm pumped to be able to photograph those moments and shed light on the struggles and also the beauty of pregnancy."

So far, the series is just four (hilarious) photos, but Guenther says she's definitely planning on adding more. Check them out for a much-needed dose of reality.
