The Most Germy Things in Restaurants Have Been Revealed and EWW

Still reeling from all the home truths about germs in hotel rooms? If you cried when we told you how dirty those little glasses are likely to be, or sobbed when we said you weren't washing your bedsheets anywhere NEAR often enough to banish bugs, then you probably won't want to know all about how germ-ridden restaurants really are.

You know, the places you go to eat nice food? Yeah, it's a bit of a shitter.

A video by Buzz60 reveals the 5 most germ-ridden places in a restaurant - and we have bad news guys - they include the table you sit at and the cutlery you actually put. in. your. mouth.

Microbiologist Dr Charles Gerba of the University of Arizona says that the table is the most germy of all the germy places in an eatery, mostly because the cloths that servers use to wipe them down after each sitting haven't been properly disinfected. So basically, germs just keep moving from table to cloth, to table, to table.

The probability your cutlery is contaminated largely depends on where they are placed when you sit down at the table. If they're on that table, ask for a fresh set, but if they're on a napkin then you're probably OK.
