5 ways to stay active when you really, really don’t feel like working out

*Confession time* I absolutely hate working out! And well, everything about gyms (maybe apart from gym crushes) feel like a physical and mental torture to me. And that’s just not it. Between work deadlines, family commitments, and binge watching a new series on Netflix, finding the motivation and time to exercise can feel like a task on some days. But wait… What if I told you there's a way to ditch the frustration and actually enjoy being active on days where working out feels like a task?

Here are five ways to stay active when you really, really don’t feel like working out

Dance like nobody’s watching

Gyms may have treadmills, but you've got your own personal dance floor – anywhere with enough space to move!  Put some tunes on, let your body loose and move to the beats of the music. Trust us, this endorphin rush will have you feeling energised and ready to take on the day!

Take the stairs

Elevators? NOPE! Take the stairs. Not only will you be working those leg muscles like a boss, you might even surprise yourself with how quickly you can scale those flights. Plus, the smug satisfaction of reaching the top is a reward in itself.

Walk your way

Tie your shoelaces and walk! Whether it's a brisk walk in the park, a stroll through your neighbourhood, or even a walk during your lunch break, it all counts. Walking is a fantastic low-impact exercise that gets your blood pumping and clears your head. Plus, it's a great way to explore your surroundings and soak up some fresh air.

Buddy up for an activity

Sometimes, all it takes is a friend to get you moving. Grab a buddy and turn your evening plans into an active adventure. Go for a dance workshop, take a group fitness class online (there are tons!), or have a friendly badminton match in the park. Laughter and friendly competition are amazing ways to make exercise feel less like a chore and more like quality time with a friend.

Turn everyday activities into workouts

We all have errands to run and places to be. Why not make them a mini-workout adventure? Park further away from your destination and power-walk to your appointment. Who says cleaning can’t be a fun way to work out? Put on some upbeat music and transform your chores into a mini-workout.
