Woman Gives Birth in Bathroom After Doctors 'Think Her Pregnancy is Constipation'

A 20-year-old woman from Cardiff, Wales, gave birth in a bathroom after doctors allegedly failed to notice she was pregnant and instead prescribed her medicine for constipation. That's a surprise if ever we've heard one!

Charlotte Bryant, who gave birth to a baby boy last month, said she was misdiagnosed by three different GPs after suffering from constant backache - with the first one giving her painkillers for inflamed muscles, and another giving her a box of powder laxatives to treat her for suspected constipation.

Speaking to Wales News Service Ltd, she explained: "I'd had really bad backache and I'd gone to the doctors. I was prescribed witha big box of powder laxatives. I went home and took one and then a short time later, I felt an urge to go to the toilet.

"I sat on the toilet and I felt something really odd between my legs. It was like a poo but it felt like it was coming from the wrong place. I felt the urge to push and then as I looked down and I saw a face looking at me. It was absolutely surreal."

Paramedics arrived at her house after she called an ambulance and she was taken to hospital, where her baby son - Joshua - was rushed to Intensive Care as he was suffering from a chest infection.

Charlotte added that she had no idea she was pregnant because her periods were still regular and she had felt no movement in her stomach.

"People have been so kind and brought lots of lovely things for him. He doesn't want for anything. We all call him a little miracle - and he really is too", she added.

CUTE.
