Facebook Introduces New Reaction Options — but There's a Catch

Today, Facebook launched six new reaction buttons, allowing users to express more emotion than just liking something. According to Facebook's newsroom, these reactions have been a long time in the making and are now available to every Facebook user globally.

When you hover over the old "like" option, six lil emojis pop up: a thumbs-up "like," a heart for "love," and four smileys representing "haha," "wow," "sad," and "angry." If you hover over the symbol below the new reactions, you'll get a breakdown of who has chosen which option. No one loved my story. They only liked it:

The newsroom press release explained they "have received positive feedback so far," but I have to imagine I'm not the only one waiting on a goddamn "dislike" button. There is no further information on whether or not the reactions will expand soon to include one.

Just remember how good it felt to finally use that middle finger emoji once you had it. Good ? things ? come ? to ? those ? who ? wait ?.
