How many Italians does it take to make a mile-long margherita?
Four hundred, apparently – and 2,000kg of flour, 1600kg of tomatoes, 2,000kg of mozzarella, and 200 litres of oil and 30kg of basil. Now that's a BIG pizza. Chefs recently came together in Naples, the home of pizza, and spent most of the afternoon assembling the world's longest ever. The chefs also designed five custom-made wood-fired ovens on wheels for the attempt, and cooked the delicious looking margherita on the waterfront of pizza's birth place. The traditional Neapolitan style pizza measured 1,853.88 metres long, smashing the previous record of 1,595.45 metres set at last year's World Expo in Milan, and reclaiming their world record. Not a bad effort!
