From glowing skin that made us look like we’d spent an entire week at a luxury spa (we wish!) to make-up looks so bold they could stop traffic, this year’s beauty scene had it all. It wasn’t just about looking good—it was about feeling good, expressing ourselves, and playing with all the cool new tricks the beauty world had to offer.

But here’s the thing: some of these trends were too good to be a one-time fling; they’ve earned their place in 2025. Whether it’s a glow so dewy you’d swear you’ve been kissed by a cloud or make-up techniques that give your creativity the freedom to go wild, 2024’s beauty moments are not going down quietly. So, as the year winds down, let’s give a shoutout to the trends that are making their way into 2025—because we’re definitely not saying goodbye to them anytime soon.

Minimal make-up

 

2024 officially declared that less is more—and we’re here for it. The minimalist beauty movement took over with foundations so light you’d think they were made of air and tinted moisturisers that gave your skin a natural, effortless glow. Forget the heavy layers; this year was all about letting your skin breathe and showing off your natural features—flaws and all. No more hiding behind full-coverage foundations or cakey layers. Instead, we embraced skin that looked like… well, skin—but way better.

Glossy lips 

 

Let’s talk about the one beauty trend that slid right back into our routines like it never left—lip gloss. In 2024, it wasn’t just about skin that glowed like it had its own Instagram filter. It was lips that shimmered, shone, and had us all asking, “Why did we ever stray from this magical, shiny goodness?” The matte lip phase, with all its dryness and serious vibes, took a backseat as lip gloss came back with a vengeance and we are not getting tired of it any time soon!

Whoever said blush was just a soft, subtle sweep clearly didn’t see 2024 coming. This year, we threw subtlety out the window and embraced blush in its brightest, most unapologetic form. Forget soft pinks that barely make a dent—2024 was all about cheeks that popped with vivid, punchy hues. Whether it was a hot pink, coral, or even a rich terracotta, blush didn’t just sit on the skin this year; it took center stage, adding a fresh, youthful glow to any makeup look.

Sparkly eyes

 

If there's one thing we all learned this year, it's that glitter never goes out of style. Eyeshadow took a major turn towards the sparkly side, and honestly, we couldn’t be happier about it. Gone were the days of subtle shimmer and matte finishes; instead, our lids became the ultimate canvas for all things glittery and bold. Whether it was delicate flecks of shimmer or full-on chunky glitter, eyeshadow was all about making a statement.
