"Vitamins like Biotin, Vitamin E, or a brand called SugarBearHair are miracle workers for making your hair grow," says stylist John Kovacs. "

You can take those gelatin-, dairy-, and gluten-free gummies twice daily."

"Getting into other alternatives such as growth shampoos and products can be a bit tricky, because this is something you would want to consult your doctor and/or hairstylist about," says Kovacs. "

If you see your colourist more than you see your extended family, Kovacs advises taking a break. "Things you would want to avoid doing to your hair while trying to grow it out would be coloring and lightening," he says. "Stay away from harsh chemicals on the hair until you reach your desired length."

"Be careful when brushing and detangling your strands," advises Fugate. "Don't be too rough with the hair and use a wet brush or a wide-tooth wood comb as the most gentle option to avoid breakage. You should also avoid wire or metal round brushes. Boar is your friend and larger brushes are better, as they create less tension."

1 no no? Tight elastics. "They are your worst nightmare for any situation — avoid at all costs!" he says. "And if you're going to bind your hair, make sure to be very mindful about how you take out the band. Always unwrap it; never just yank it out."

If you're low on time, an easy fix that will cost you nothing is a good old-fashioned scalp massage. This improves the blood circulation to the hair follicles and can be done when you're in the shower shampooing, or bored on your couch binge-watching The Bachelor.

"Just like our skin, it's crucial to moisturise your hair weekly or monthly," recommends Matos. Rita Hazan's Weekly Remedy Treatment is a great product for this since it's a two-step treatment that works immediately repairing hair from the inside out.
