Macaron Hair Is the Most Delightful Rainbow Hair You've Ever Seen

People have come up with hair color combinations based on galaxies and space, fire, and sunsets, and now, there's an even sweeter style. Shelley Gregory, hair stylist and colorist at Atelier by Square Salon in Las Vegas, Nevada, created this rainbow dye look inspired by the famous Ladurée macaron and pastry shop founded in Paris. 

"I went there a few years ago and I remember loving the color palette," Gregory told Cosmopolitan.com. "Everything from the crown molding and the way they display the macarons — it sticks with you. It's kind of like Disneyland, where it's magic. I wanted that feeling when you look at this hair."

The multi-hued look, which she also calls "candy unicorn hair" on her Instagram feed, features seven colors, including purple, pink, peach, yellow, blue, mint green, and silver.

"You see rainbow hair but it's too much," she said. "I wanted it to be a toned-down rainbow. And something yummy-looking!"

Just like your more muted winter wardrobe, this look features soft colors, making it the perfect complement to winter whites and metallics you'll wear for holiday parties. Helloooo, New Year's Eve party hair!

And if you want to channel full on  ~unicorn~ vibes, you can add some glitter to your roots like Gregory did below. Her pro tip: Mix glitter with hair gel and brush onto your roots — it's that easy. You can even use a blush brush or paint brush to apply the mixture. Just make sure to wash your brush immediately after!
