If you kept up with the inauguration, you know that Lady Gaga came out onto the Capitol balcony with a huge Hunger Games-looking pin to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." (It was hard to miss.) And keeping the sartorial bar high, Jennifer Lopez emerged after Gaga wearing a head-to-toe white Chanel look. She performed "This Land Is Your Land" and "America the Beautiful" wearing a long tweed coat with gold buttons, a ruffled blouse, and wide-leg pants. She accessorized with statement earrings and pearl bracelets and kept her hair in a high ponytail for the occasion.

White is also a color of the suffragettes, although other hues associated with the group include gold, green, and purple. (Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, and Hillary Clinton opted to wear this last hue to the inauguration as a possible nod to the women's suffrage movement as well as bipartisanship.)

Midway through her performance she also spoke in Spanish, and said: "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all," before inexplicably going into her iconic hit "Let's Get Loud." Of course, people Twitter had a lot of feelings about it. The most important question simply being: Why?

I don't think we have fully processed yet how J. Lo invoked "Let's Get Loud" during a presidential inauguration.

Before the ceremony, J. Lo also stopped by the Capitol on Tuesday to thank the troops guarding it in light of the violent insurrection that occurred on Jan. 6. In an Instagram post she wrote:

What an honor to spend a few moments with these brave men and women. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I honor you today and everyday. ?? Tomorrow I sing for you and all Americans. ❤️??

Others who performed at the inauguration were Garth Brooks, who sang "Amazing Grace," and 22-year-old poet laureate Amanda Gorman, who made history as the youngest poet to read at a presidential inauguration.
