Janhvi Kapoor Posted an Emotional Birthday Tribute to Her Late Mother and It'll Make You Tear Up

A mural of the legend is also set to be unveiled on the streets of Bandra, Mumbai today.

 

Sridevi's family—real, extended, and her millions of fans—still find her absence hard to digestAugust 13 marks the 55th birthday of Sridevi, who the world lost this February in an unfortunate incident in Dubai. And to commemorate it, her daughter and Dhadak actor, Janhvi Kapoor posted a picture on her social media. 

In an exclusive conversation with India Today, Janhvi Kapoor had talked about coping with the loss of her mom when she was supposed to prep for her debut film.  

"It hasn't been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn't for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways," she said. 

Even Manish Malhotra, who was a close friend of Sridevi, remembered her today and posted their picture captioned, "I Truly Miss You Very Much ♥️".

Sridevi's death shocked not just her fans in India but all over the world, such was her superstar stature. In fact, the city of Mumbai also decided to pay a tribute to the legend by immortalising her as a mural. 

The walls of several buildings in the by-lanes of Bandra are filled with spectacular paintings of famous Bollywood stars, featuring the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Amrish Puri, Dev Anand, and Madhubala.

Sridevi's 18-foot mural will be seen on Chapel Road, right next to Madhubala's.
