What the shape of your fingernails can reveal about your personality

For a lot of us, getting a good manicure is an instant mood booster. And while nail trends come and go (milky nails and chrome nails, we’re looking at you), did you know that your personal preferences, in terms of shape and size of the nail, can divulge a lot about your personality? We're not joking. The next time you need to tell a friend from a foe, just take a look at their nails. From oval-shaped to Kylie Jenner-like stilettos, read on to know what your nails have been saying about you!   

Oval  

If you’re an oval-shaped-nails kind of girl, you’re sophisticated and humble. You say what is on your mind but you are tactful about it. You aren’t generally impulsive and are calm in crisis situations. You carry yourself with poise and your nails reflect that! 

Square 

If you always keep your nails square, you’re the friend who is always up for that third drink! You’re the life of the party and can dance the night away. However, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t days you would rather spend lying on your couch watching Friends (or some cult-favourite show) for the millionth time. You live by the phrase—work hard, play harder.  

Round 

If you prefer rounded nails, you are independent and open-minded. You’re the confidant of your group, thanks to your easy-going and approachable personality. You love to travel and have a positive outlook on life. However, you also have the tendency to be a little too laid back, which often affects your personal and professional life. 

Stiletto 

If you have stiletto-shaped nails, there aren’t many things in this world that scare you. You are bold, fierce, and don’t shy away from taking risks. You have a Queen B kind of personality and are considered a trendsetter. To some people though, you might come off as intimidating. But once they get to know you, they know that you also go out of your way for the people in your life.  

Almond  

If you prefer to have almond-shaped nails, you are reliable, honest, and loyal. You have your head on your shoulders and are kind and well-mannered. People usually come to you for advice and you are romantic at heart. However, you get easily drained in social situations and need some alone time to recharge every now and then. 

Short nails 

If you cut your nails off every chance you get, you most likely have a low-key personality. You enjoy the simpler things in life and find happiness in small joys. While you might enjoy a fresh coat of colour, you aren’t high maintenance and your nails reflect that!
