Hollywood love stories always make it seem like you'll know you met "The One" when he looks at you and you can just feel it. While that sometimes happens, more often it's something specific that happened between you two that told you everything you needed to know. Cosmopolitan.com asked 13 women how they knew they'd met the person they were supposed to be with. Here are their super cute stories.

1. "I knew he was the one when I looked into his eyes. I've never looked away."

"I've been married to my husband nine years and I feel like I've known him all my life. We'd known each other in college, though we had never dated. Later, when we met for the second time, we found out we had also done out first communion and our confirmation together and shared many mutual friends. I can tell you what he is thinking and he surprises me at every turn. He is an amazing father to our two children. I knew he was the one when I looked into his eyes. I've never looked away."  —Ellen, 34

2. "Despite great personal struggle and tragedy, the last 5 ½ years with him have been the best of my life because he has been there by my side through all of it."

"This may sound cliche, but everyone I know will tell you the same thing: We did not know that someone like my husband existed until we met him. We have been together 5 1/2 years, and despite great personal struggle and tragedy, they have been the best of my life because he has been there by my side through all of it, which is how I knew he was the one. Not only has he told me that 'all he ever wanted in his life was to love someone, and let them know how much he loves them,' he lives that truth everyday. When I met him, I was going through some of the most difficult times of my life, and he easily could have run, but he simply asked what I needed. He is loving, selfless, and my rock. One year after we got married I was diagnosed with a rare and difficult disease. He never faltered, and I would not make it through this, or life in general, without him." —Nikki, 40

3. "I opened the door, and he stood there wide-eyed and said, 'Please let me in. I am not giving up on you ever!'"

"I've been with my now fiance for two and a half years and I knew he was the one when  we'd only been dating for only two months when we got in a huge argument over the phone. I told him I never want to see him again, which was very dramatic. About 45 minutes later, the doorbell rang. I opened the door, and he stood there wide-eyed and said, 'Please let me in. I am not giving up on you ever!' I've never experienced a man actually arriving at my door after a huge argument, holding wine and cheese and telling me he won't give up on me and on us. It was such a big gesture and made me feel so safe and wanted, no matter how bad things got. I just knew he was the one, despite the fact that we didn't know each other that long. He proposed to me a year later, and now we're getting married! It's the hard times that reveal true love." —Vivi, 28

4. "We had the same thoughts at the same time."

"It didn't take me long to figure out that Don was the one I'd spend the second half of my life with. We had the same thoughts at the same time. This happened so many times that it didn't seem logical, and we still have simultaneous thoughts to this day." —Marcia, 55

5. "I knew that Mike would grow up to be the same incredible husband and father. I was 100 percent right!"

"I knew my husband Mike was the one a few weeks into our relationship when I saw him with his family. They had a chemistry that was unlike anything I had ever seen. He even blushed a little when they teased him and I thought it was the cutest thing ever. During my first 'meeting the family,' I also watched Mike's dad. He was a man with an incredible amount of patience, kindness, love, and warmth, and I knew that could only mean that Mike would grow up to be the same incredible husband and father. I was 100 percent right! We've been together for 12 years and married for five. We have a 19-month old son, Jack, and Mike is the most amazing and supportive father." —Jeannie, 37

6. "I saw him in line at the bar and thought to myself, "He's cute. I wonder if he's The One.'"

"My husband and I have been together since 1997 when I saw him in line at the bar and thought to myself, 'He's cute. I wonder if he's The One.' Within a few minutes, we met. Coincidentally, the cute guy and I were both at the same bar to celebrate a mutual friend's birthday. As we started talking, I realized I'd never met anyone with whom I had more in common. Within a few weeks, I knew I'd fallen in love, and believed in my heart that I'd met the great love of my life. He was unlike anyone I'd ever known, and after every date and every conversation, I looked forward to the next. He had nearly every quality on my list except for being over 6' (he's just a little under)." —Karen, 45

7. "Every time I would walk into the bar and he'd see me, he would always say, 'Hello, beautiful.'"

"My boyfriend is a bartender and before we started dating I would go into the bar he worked all the time to meet with friends. Every time I would walk into the bar and he'd see me, he would always say, "Hello, beautiful." What drew me to him wasn't that he said that, but how he said it, with his blue eyes and dimples. At that point, I was convinced that we were going to be together, I just wasn't sure how or when. Fortunately, he asked me out about two weeks later. Almost nine years later, we're still together and just got engaged about two weeks ago. He was the one from the very beginning and it didn't take me long to realize it. He's wonderful and I adore him just much now as I did when we first got together." —Lexi, 34

8. "I had never been with a woman before, but had an intense attraction to Charlotte and truly fell for her at first sight."

"My wife and I met in a hospital in Delhi, India. I was visiting the stem cell hospital where I had received experimental treatment a couple of years earlier for an 'incurable' condition. That's when I met Charlotte, who was visiting from London to see her mother, Janet, a patient being treated for ALS. I had never been with a woman before, but had an intense attraction to Charlotte and truly fell for her at first sight. Our relationship began over many Skype calls between California and England and after we held hands by Janet's bed as she passed away in 2010, Charlotte moved to Los Angeles to be with me. We got married in 2011. My dad always told me that when you meet the one, you feel like it's you and them against the world. And I absolutely felt that for the first time in my life." —Amy, 36

9. "He has always stood right beside me to remind me of who I really am."

"I knew pretty early that my boyfriend was the one. I've hit a lot of lows in the six months we have been together and he has still wanted to be right beside me to remind me of who I really am."—Amie, 27

10. "I couldn't believe I had just spent six hours talking to a complete stranger with no awkward silences."

"I had a pretty good feeling my now-husband was the one when our first date lasted for six full hours. It started with brunch, then a long walk along the beach until sunset, then dessert and coffee. I couldn't believe I had just spent six hours talking to a complete stranger with no awkward silences, and feeling like we had known each other forever. I never in a million years imagined I could click so quickly with someone." –Miriam, 33

11. "I went in one day to see the sandwich and he'd named the sandwich the 'Leo Loves Amy.'"

"My now-husband had been eating sandwiches at this small place by his office for months. If you racked up enough points, they gave you one chance to name a sandwich after yourself, which he did. I went in one day to see the sandwich and he'd named the sandwich the 'Leo Loves Amy.' They printed a special menu for us and everything." –Amy, 37

12. "I turned around to see that he was putting change in all of the meters on the block so that people wouldn't have to run out into the cold to fill their meters."

"I met my fiancé online just over two years ago. I had just come out of a relationship, so I was really guarded at the beginning. About two months into the relationship, he told me he wanted to take me to one of his favorite breakfast spots. We got our food and had a great time laughing over breakfast and talking about our favorite spots in the city. As we headed outside, I made a beeline for the car and then turned around to see that he was putting change in all of the meters on the block so that people wouldn't have to run out into the cold to fill their meters. It was at that exact moment that I thought, 'Oh my gosh, I love him.' It may have been small, but for someone to be so amazing to me and to people he didn't even know told me he was a keeper. Our wedding is in September." –Jessica, 26

13. "I knew he was the one when I looked into his eyes and all my troubles melted away."

"After I started dating my now husband, I felt something I had never felt with anyone else before. It wasn't butterflies, but more like an all-encompassing love. I knew he was the one when I looked into his eyes and all my troubles melted away. We have been together 26 years now." –Yaya, 43
