Just one spritz of a great-smelling fragrance can brighten up your day and put you in a good mood. However, using perfumes directly on your skin can cause allergic reactions or sometimes, even stain your clothes!

"Using the right fragrance is very important and it is always best to use natural fragrance of essential oils for your fragrance instead of synthetic perfumes. The natural fragrances last longer and also remind you of happy memories whenever you smell them," says Dr Blossom Kochhar, celebrity aromatherapist and founder of Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic.

So, if you are looking to go au naturel with your fragrances, here are Dr Kochhar picks of essential oils that can double up as great natural perfumes:  
 
•      Jasmine  
 
Jasmine essential oil is popular floral aromatic oil, which provides a sudden whiff of freshness and peaceful thoughts. It helps in easing anxiety, depression and nervous chills. Jasmine is a strong aphrodisiac and is extremely helpful in building confidence and enhancing skin elasticity.

How to use
Massage: Jasmine essential oil can be used for massages. Mix 2-3 drops of the essential oil into a carrier oil and blend it well.
Diffuser: Use 4-5 drops of Jasmine essential oil in a diffuser bowl filled with three-quarters of water. Essential oils should never be burnt directly as the chemical structure can get changed with an incinerator.
Baths: Add 4-5 drops of Jasmine essential oil to your bathtub or 3-4 drops to your bucket and swish the water gently to mix the oil well. If you have dry skin, add a tablespoon of vegetable oil along with the essential oil.
 
 
•    Lavender
 
Also known as “Universal Oil”, the Lavender essential oil has multiple qualities, which soothes nerves, eases pains and fights palpitation. It regulates high blood pressure and counteracts stress and relieves fatigue and depression which the new age brides tend to get easily. It helps heals burns, insect bites, helps falling hair, eczema and acne.

How to use
Massage: Lavender essential oil can be used for massages. Mix 2-3 drops of the essential oil into a carrier oil and blend it well.
