6 beauty and pop culture collabs we never saw coming

Yes, we know it’s probably the packaging and puns, but we’re not complaining. After all, who’s going to say “no” to these beauty and pop culture collaborations that transfer the magic offscreen? Somewhere between a Glownagi-tinted moisturiser and a Just Bitten lipstick (scroll for context), our favourite fictional characters made it to our vanity for a subtle brush with fame. And while you reminisce and rewatch, these are the cosmetic collabs worth splurging on!

Nykaa + Kimirica and Bridgerton

Dearest gentle readers, the Regency era beckons, and we’ve found the diamond(s) of the season! First up, there’s Nykaa’s range of Bridgerton-inspired lipsticks (five shades sold out within three days, with Queen’s Pick and Full Bloom emerging as clear winners), alongside face palettes, nail polishes, and more. 

Next, Indian brand Kimirica, which prides itself on premium plant-based formulae, partnered with the Netflix original to launch three limited-edition fragrances. There’s the neroli and thyme-based Midnight Masquerade, the orange rind and cedar-infused Mayfair Soirée, and the white wisteria-themed Lady In Silver. You must make haste while these are still in season (read: stock).
 

 

Swiss Beauty and Friends

No, this is not a take on Ichiban - Lipstick for Men. But, you will find a dewy Glownagi tinted moisturiser with sheer-to-buildable coverage, and a “How You Doin'?” lip and cheek mud (in a miniature heart-shaped case, no less). Use the mini brush inside to apply the creamy, glycerine-infused tint, which comes in three shades. Our favourite part, though? Monica’s make-up remover wipes. They hydrate, cleanse and have Monica’s stamp of approval. I KNOW!
 

 

Colourpop and Twilight

Millennials are going to love this. Gen Z is going to post this. And here’s why. It’s nailed the nomenclature, while the black-and-red-themed packaging covers aesthetics. We can’t promise your skin will sparkle in the sun like diamonds, but a pop of colour is guaranteed. Take the Eclipse Jelly Much Shadow, for instance, which is vegan (excuse the irony) and ultrapigmented. The Just Bitten lipstick set comes with pink-hued lippie pencils and stix, as well as a powder-to-crème lipstick. The shade? A Newborn: Rich vampy red, which, going by the book, must be strong.

The full collection set comes with four eyeshadow quads (modelled on each house, of course), four high-shine lip glosses, a magic cauldron lip mask, and a glitter lipstick with a glassy black finish. Thought we’d leave the classics out? As if! Channel your inner Cher with the cutesy, Clueless-inspired makeup range by Revolution Beauty. Think: plaid and gingham style packaging, wardrobe palettes and totally buggin’ shades! The Dionne Phone Palette is black-and-white themed on the outside, with green and nude-toned mattes and shimmers suitable for all skin tones. Meanwhile, Cher’s Wardrobe Palette includes pink-toned mattes and shimmers with fun picks such as “Snob”, “Pom Pom”, and “A+ Style”. Now, all we’re missing is that computer closet.
