“I am a huge fan of double cleansing—it leaves skin squeaky-clean, without stripping it off its natural oils. I start with Bioderma Micellar Water (it breaks down make-up easily) and then take a pump of Filorga Foam Cleanser to wash my face. If I’m wearing a lot of make-up, I add an oil cleanser—like Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil—to take off the grime. I’m more inclined towards using products that have been scientifically proven to show results. Plus, one tip that I’d like to give is that always, always wash your face with cold water, as hot water can leave skin feeling dry
and sensitive.”

“The first rule of cleansing: identify your skin type and choose a cleanser accordingly. Very often, we get swayed by trending products, which can do more harm than good. Since I have dry skin, I use a cream cleanser—Crème Lavante by Uriage; it’s gentle and very hydrating. I don’t use a toner as it can leave skin dry. At night, I use ISDIN’s Miceller Solution 4 In 1 to take off make-up and rinse my face with lukewarm water. If you have dry or acne-prone skin, you should limit washing your face to twice a day, as cleansing too often can damage skin cells, causing irritation. Once a fortnight, however, I use a clarisonic brush to deep clean and gently exfoliate my face—it takes off dead skin cells, leaving you with radiant complexion.”

“I’m very scientific in my approach when it comes to skincare. I have sensitive skin, so I refrain from scrubbing it to avoid irritatation. I use the Embryolisse Make-Up Remover to take off eye make-up, and follow it up with the Kama Ayurveda Cleansing Foam for Sensitive Skin. I also like Kama Ayurveda’s Rose & Jasmine Cleanser—it’s very mild and has a pleasant scent. The one thing I avoid like the plague is cleansing tools—they are the nidus for harbouring bacteria, and no matter how often you clean them, they are likely to cause an infection sooner or later, especially in an environment like ours.”
