Here's breaking down Beyoncé's haircare routine and it's simpler than we imagined

We learn so much about celebrities through their social media. From their impeccable fits to their vacations, we get to live vicariously through them. But it hits differently when a celebrity gives us a sneak peek into their beauty routines. Especially when they are talking about something as common as haircare. Beyoncé (yes, Queen Bey) did just that and we’ve gathered here today to break it down for you.

The 'Halo' singer took to her Instagram to share her hair wash day regime using products from her haircare brand—Cécred, which she launched earlier this year with her mother, Tina Knowles. According to the caption, Beyoncé pulled this video from her archives to join in on all the people posting their wash routines and talking about their experience with Cécred.

After watching her routine, we have to say that her routine is incredibly relatable. You would assume that someone who is constantly on stage and in the public eye would have a much more convoluted routine to keep her hair picture-perfect all the time. But nope, it’s a routine we can all follow. The video starts with Beyoncé saying, “Now that Cécred is known for the quality and what it does for your hair, I think it’s about time I show y’all what it does for my hair.”

Her stylist first lathers up her textured tresses, giving them a quick wash. Through her voice-over, we learn that because her colour was freshly done when the video was shot, they applied a coat of Cécred’s Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual before doing a round of deep conditioning. Once rinsed out, her team smeared on a little of the Moisture Sealing Lotion to prepare her hair for styling.

We also learned that she prefers blow-drying her hair on medium and avoids using too much heat when possible. She goes over her hair with a flat iron to straighten it after, which her team puts in hair rollers. And for the last step, we see Bey apply some hair oil. The final result was fresh, perfectly styled bouncy curls. She gave us a few hair flips so we could see just how radiant and nourished her hair looked.

While she narrated her routine, Beyoncé let us on her haircare journey. She says in the video that she has had blonde hair for 25 years and chose colour over perms and relaxers but her hair has never felt so moisturised. Anyone with textured hair knows the struggle is real. The 'Single Ladies' singer also used this video to address the comments that have been made about her wearing wigs. She said, “The stigma and misconception is that people that wear wigs don’t have long and healthy hair—that’s some b****hit because it ain’t nobody’s business.”

We suggest you take notes. Even though Cécred is not available in India, her routine is inspirational enough for everyone to take the time out to give their tresses some extra TLC.
