“I don’t remember how or when I decided to become an actor... it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do for as long as I can remember! I grew up in California and was surrounded by art, culture, and music from the day I was born. My parents are musicians and have a Bollywood cover band called Geetanjali, and I had started learning Kathak, too, by the age of five. Due to this constant exposure, I developed a passion for acting and performing very early in life. After finishing school, I came to India and spent a couple of years in Mumbai, because I had always dreamed of breaking into Indian cinema. But it wasn’t easy. Being an NRI, an ‘outsider’ to the industry, I had to face many challenges—although those were also some of the most transformational years of my life, and gave me the opportunity to connect to my roots on a much deeper level, as well as expand my skill set as an actor/dancer. I’ve been in Los Angeles for almost nine years now, and my acting journey continues to have its ups and downs (as it is for every actor), but it is extraordinarily fulfilling at the same time!”
