Britney Spears Takes It to Twitter to Explain Why She Suddenly Deleted Instagram

Not sure if you noticed and/or completely spiraled yesterday, but Britney Spears fully deactivated her Instagram account. Which came as a huge shock to fans—especially since she's been using Instagram to update everyone on how she's doing, and literally *just* dropped news of her engagement to Sam Asghari.

Britney's sudden Instagram deletion had a lot of her followers concerned, to the point where multiple sources and Britney's attorney had to come out and calm everyone down—and now it looks like Britney herself is speaking out.

Taking it to Twitter, Britney wrote "Don’t worry folks … just taking a little break from social media to celebrate my engagement !!!! I’ll be back soon."

A source previously told People that Britney "is taking a break, as many celebrities do," and "It was her decision, and nothing else should be read into it. She is in a great place, legally and personally."

Meanwhile, a source told Page Six that Britney is taking time away from Insta "in light of the successful path that she’s been on and continues to be on [following] the news of [her engagement].” The source added that "she’s happy and in a great place and silence can be a powerful thing and a powerful message.”

Britney's attorney, Mathew Rosengart also confirmed to the outlet that Britney made the choice to take a social media break. Here's to hoping she makes the most of her time offline, and has fun celebrating her engagement while she's at it!
