Alia Bhatt Calls Ranbir Kapoor Her 'Boyfriend' on Instagram; Shares Glimpses of Their Trip to Africa

Ever since Rajkummar-Patralekhaa and Vicky-Katrina, we've been waiting on this couple to put a ? on it, simply cause they're hella cute. According to media reports—and of course, the paparazzi stationed at the Mumbai airport—Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt jetted off across the globe, to the African continent, to ring in 2022 the 'wild way'. The duo reportedly spent their New Year in the company of a wide variety of fauna at the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

On the first day of 2022, Alia took to Instagram to share a series of pictures from her safari trip and wrote, "giving 2022 some Hakuna Matata energy." (If you scroll to the second picture in the slide, you catch a glimpse of her beau sippin' on something from a goblet). A couple of days later, Danish author Lisa Christoffersen took to the social media platform to share a photograph of herself with the Bollywood stars. "A chance rendezvous while on safari...gifted them a copy of my book, Bush Friendly Tips for Girls (Boys Too)! - A Living Safari Guide to Kenya. I'm sure it will come in handy during their travels through East Africa," she said in her post.

A few hours ago, the Student of the Year actor dropped another set of vacation pictures on her Instagram handle, making us 'aww' at her caption. "Casually flexing my boyfriend’s photography skills," pens Alia, *officially* making them official—oh, how we've longed for this day! A bunch of B-town celebrities, including Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor, took to the comment section. See what they had to say below:

In May 2018, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt made their first public appearance together at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding. The Rockstar actor went on record during a GQ interview, confirming the rumoured relationship. He said, "It's really new right now, and I don't want to overspeak." Then on, the couple has made several appearances together at award shows, movie screenings, and annual family get-togethers. The pair, for the first time ever, will be sharing the silver screen with Ayan Mukerji's upcoming superhero film, Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva, all set to release on 9th September this year.

While Alia Bhatt has previously posted photographs on Instagram hinting at her relationship with Ranbir—such as his lucky number 8 on her phone cover, and so on—it wasn't until this Diwali that she posted a picture of the two of them together. "& some love..." (I'm not crying, you are).

She also took to Instagram on her beau's birthday to wish him by sharing a snippet from one of their vacations. "Happy birthday my life," penned the actor in the picture of the lovebirds watching the sunset behind the clouds, along the ocean. While Ranbir is not 'officially' on social media, during a Koffee With Karan season 6 episode alongside Deepika Padukone, Alia revealed that he is, in fact, on Instagram, via an unknown handle.

Did you spot the ❤️ 8 on the star's leather phone case?

Here's another one to make you just a bit more jealous, if you aren't already writhing in agony.

Reportedly, the couple was supposed to tie the knot last December. However, had no choice but to push it to 2022 due to their respective work commitments. In an interview with Indian film critic Rajeev Masand in 2020, Ranbir Kapoor had revealed, "It would’ve been sealed had the pandemic not hit our lives. I don't want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick-mark that goal very soon in my life."

Speaking on behalf of, well, everyone—we cannot WAIT for it to happen.
