Cut out dresses are showing no signs of disappearing soon, folks. While it might've seemed like the negative space trend was going to be eclipsed by the see-through dress revival, Margot Robbie is out here proving that the former is still very in, thank you very much.

The Australian actor attended the global premiere of her new film Babylon in Los Angeles overnight. For the occasion, Margot went for a truly epic number which is significantly more daring than her regular red carpet attire.

Dressed in a short black halterneck Alaïa design with a short hemline and torso-baring cutout panel, we almost didn't recognise the star at first. The knitted number even includes a matching hood - an extension of the cross-over panels on the bust - giving it a low-key noughties feel reminiscent of fellow Aussie Kylie Minogue's 2001 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' music video costume.

Beauty-wise, the actor wore her hair tucked underneath the hood, save for a few face-framing strands, coupled with a neutral lip and lightly bronzed cheeks.

Margot's stylist, Kate Young (who is also the name behind Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Williams' killer wardrobes) credited the dress designer on her Stories, and shared another snap of the actor wearing a second black evening look - this time a tailored Alexander McQueen power suit.

Yep, I, for one, am excited for this next chapter in Margot's style journey.
