Halle Bailey has announced the birth of her baby boy, along with the sweetest name

Congratulations are in order for Halle Bailey and her partner, the rapper DDG, who just announced the birth of their first child together - a son.

2023 was a whirlwind of a year for the 23-year-old star, whose fame soared to new heights thanks to her leading role as Ariel in Disney's The Little Mermaid, which saw her nominated for a slew of awards.

However, according to Halle, her son's arrival was her biggest achievement of 2023, thanks to the heartfelt caption she accompanied her baby news with.

Taking to Instagram to share the sweetest snap of her holding her newborn's hand, the new mum wrote: "Even though we're a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo, the world is desperate to know you."

Halle's announcement also included the name of her firstborn - Halo - and honestly, we can't think of anything cuter. And apparently, neither can her 7.8 million Instagram followers who flocked to the comments section to congratulate Halle and DDG on the birth. Plus, to compliment the little one's title. 

From Kylie enner posting a string of angel emojis in honour of the name, to Kali Uchis's "I know you'll be the best mommy" comment, Halle received further well-wishes from fans.

"Welcome Halo. CONGRATULATIONS on your beautiful blessing," one person penned, while a second said: "Halo is such a beautiful name."

Elsewhere, a third added: "Baby HALO!!! We love you already," as a fourth gushed: "Ahhhhhh congratulations Angel baby! Yas Halo!"

DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. also took to Instagram to share his excitement on the birth of his son. The 26-year-old, who has publicly been with Halle since December 2021 posted the same pic as his partner, with a caption that read: "My biggest blessing by far, son son.. never been so in love, baby Halo."
