Daughter of Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates, Jennifer, tied the knot with her long time boyfriend, Nayel Nassar, this weekend. Both Stanford graduates, the two met on the equestrian circuit and fast became friends. With time, their friendship blossomed into love, and they got engaged in January 2020, when Nayel proposed to Jennifer on her favourite ski run. On Saturday, the two got married at the Gates' farm in Westchester, New York.
Jennifer Gates took to Instagram to announce her wedlock by sharing a glimpse of her elegant, boho-chic wedding. "My universe 10.16.21," she captioned her post. Her husband, Nayel Nassar, also took to the platform to share the good news. He wrote, "We did a thing this weekend! ? Can’t wait for forever after with you @jenniferkgates. Thank you to everyone who made this the happiest day of my life." Jenn commented on the picture, saying, "Luckiest girl in the world."
Daddy Gates shared a heartfelt note for the newlywed couple on social media as well—take a look.
Who is Nayel Nassar?
Nayel was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Kuwait by his Egyptian parents, Iman Harby and Fouad Nassar, founders and managers of Diwan Interiors International. He is currently ranked 44th in the world as a show jumping rider and competed in his first Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, representing Team Egypt. He also recently developed and launched Jumpr, an app for showjumping results and statistics.
Jennifer, who is a third-year MD candidate at the Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai, was an internationally ranked equestrian athlete as well, before she decided to pursue a career in medicine. She is also the founder of Evergate Stables, which is now co-managed by the couple. Jennifer is one of three children and has two younger siblings, 21-year-old Rory John Gates and 19-year-old Phoebe Adele Gates.
Who Did Jennifer Gates Wear For the Big Day?
For the dreamy nuptials, Jennifer slipped into a custom ivory long-sleeve A-line Vera Wang Haute gown with hand appliqué French macrame lace on the bodice, sleeves, and flowing onto light ivory and champagne Italian tulle skirt to walk down the aisle—which was lined with white hybrid Dutch delphinium flowers—for the outdoor ceremony. A light ivory Italian tulle chapel length veil trimmed in hand-appliqué French macrame lace complemented the elegant dress.
For the reception, which took place in a tent afterwards, Jennifer wore a custom light ivory French macrame lace trumpet Vera Wang Haute gown, lined in nude tulle, with a square neckline and embellished by hand appliqué French macrame lace on the skirt and straps. A six-tier rose-adorned cake made by a French bakery, Ladurée, was also spotted at the ceremony.
Congratulations to the beautiful couple!
