Shay Mitchell Flaunts Her Bare Baby Bump to Announce Her Second Pregnancy

Just a day after Kylie Jenner announced the arrival of her newborn son, Canadian star Shay Mitchell revealed that she is expecting baby no. 2 with Matte Babel. The longtime couple—who are already parents to 2-year-old daughter Atlas—have been dating for over 5 years but are in no rush to tie the knot. "I don't know if I've done anything in order. I didn't get married before a child. I had a child, didn't get married. I don't know if that's in the cards for us...There's no pressure here. I love it," she confessed. 

The You actor took to Instagram to announce her second pregnancy via an emotional post remembering her 'Gram', who passed away a couple of weeks ago. "Saying goodbye to a loved one while simultaneously experiencing the joy of welcoming another into this world is the great cycle of life...I can’t help but think this was the universe's plan all along, knowing I would need otherworldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life," she penned.

 "Yet, this is proof that love, life, and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time...I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way," she added in her heartwarming post. 

Shay Mitchell gave birth to her first daughter, Atlas Noa Babel, with her boyfriend, Matte Babel, on 8th October 2019, a year after the couple had suffered a miscarriage. The actor had also opened up about her tumultuous pregnancy journey. "Usually, I’m incredibly active and outgoing, but instead, I mainly stayed home to avoid stares and questions. I was extremely lonely. Pregnancy can be a hard time, especially if you’re having to hide it. After I came out publicly, I felt an enormous wave of relief and was finally able to start enjoying the pregnancy," the star revealed.

All said and done, Atlas was definitely worth the wait, with the joy she brought into their lives. "It's just been so incredible. And, everybody feels this, but I've never known a love like this—just to see her pick up the different mannerisms and see a little bit of Matte and see a little bit of myself in her," Mitchell admitted to E! News. No wonder the star couldn't wait to embark on the journey of motherhood all over again!
