Guess Who Inspired Anushka Sharma to Join the Film Industry

No, it wasn't Aditya Chopra.

The best part of promotional chats is that apart from sharing reasons to watch their upcoming movies, stars candidly reveal some unknown facts about their lives too. At the trailer launch of Jab Harry Met Sejal, Anushka candidly spoke about her inspiration, working with Imtiaz Ali and Shah Rukh .

Anushka shared how she longed to work with the director Imtiaz Ali. She said,"I have been waiting to work with Imtiaz for the longest time. I remember watching Jab We Met in Bikaner with my parents and I felt this is an amazing film. Looking at the character of 'Geet' (essayed by Kareena Kapoor) I felt I should be doing films. I enjoyed collaborating with him for this film,".

Talking about her character of a Gujarati girl in the film, Anushka shared how she prepared for it. "I learnt the Gujarati diction from my coach Dimple. We used to write down the words in the way it is pronounced and once you are familiar with those words it was easier to talk in that accent and style," she said.

Jab Harry Met Sejal is Anushka's third movie with Shah Rukh Khan, and so the questions about him were bound to pop up.

The actor recalled how Shah Rukh made her comfortable on sets. She said,"I knew him as Shah Rukh, the superstar, and I was going to do a romantic film with him. When I met him on the sets he congratulated me, he was chilled out, he made me feel comfortable. He was not intimidating. Later I realised that he was such a big support system for me in my first film, he made things easy for me as a newcomer without making it obvious. It was really nice of him,"

Needless to say Anushka learnt a lot from the superstar because now even she treats newcomers like SRK treated her.
