Glen Powell breaks silence on Sydney Sweeney "affair" rumours

Glen Powell has *finally* responded to romance rumours with Sydney Sweeney, denying anything like an "alleged affair" ever happened.

If you went anywhere near the internet in April 2023, the chances are you'll know all about the Sweeney / Powell dating rumours. The pair star opposite each other in new rom-com Anyone But You, about two feuding holidaymakers who are brought together repeatedly during a trip to Australia.

Thanks to some cosy snaps from set (see: acting!) and a couple of Instagram Stories, there was speculation on social media that the pair were together in real life too - only encouraged by rumours that Powell had broken up with girlfriend Gigi Paris around the same time.

In a new interview with Men's Health, Powell addressed the speculation, calling it an "alleged affair" and adding, "When all that stuff happened, you know, publicly, it felt disorienting and unfair. But what I’m realising is that's just a part of this gig now."

Back in August 2023, Sweeney shared a similar sentiment to Variety, insisting the pair loved seeing the internet go wild over the duo's chemistry. "It's a rom-com. That's what people want!" she explained.

"Glen and I don't really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he's such a hard worker, and I'm a hard worker. We're excited for the press tour, and I literally just left ADR with him. We talk all the time like, 'That's really funny'."

Sweeney also joked about leaning into the narrative: "They want it. It’s fun to give it to ’em."

As fans haven't heard otherwise, Sweeney is seemingly still engaged to Chicago-based businessman Jonathan Davino, while Gigi and Glen reportedly broke up due to distance in spring.

A source told People at the time, "Gigi and Glen had broken up several times. They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never happy with the long-distance filming, and when she came to Australia, they both decided to break up for good."
