StopPress! Balenciaga All Set To Launch in India

About a month ago, Balenciaga made waves at the Haute Couture Fashion Week by having celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Christine Quinn, and Dua Lipa sashay down the runway-- and now it’s all set to open its doors in India by mid-2023.

The luxury Spanish fashion brand is being brought to us by Indian luxury conglomerate Reliance Brands under a long-term franchise agreement. While a lot of the more specific details, like the location of the stores, are being kept hush, we do know that the items in the store will carry ready-to-wear clothing, accessories and footwear. This news comes to us only a fortnight after we heard that Reliance Brands was bringing Italian fashion house, Valentino, to India. 

Balenciaga, helmed by fashion designer Demna Gvasalia has been named one of the hottest brands in the world by the Lyst Index in Q3 2021, Q4 2021 and Q1 2022. In an attempt to make the brand more accessible, earlier this year, Balenciaga joined hands with Meta for the Meta Avatars Store which allows you to dress up your Facebook, Instagram and Messenger avatars in high-end luxury fashion.
