Autumn is legit just weeks away, which means an entire new crop of fall hairstyles is about to be released into the wild. Gone are the sweaty topknots and messy ponytails of summer; only deep side parts, sleek ponytails, and brushed-out curls for this fall. Basically, you're bound to find a hair trend you want to try at home. Though, word to the wise, don't wait too long to test them out, because I guarantee you'll start to see them all over your Instagram come next weekend. Bollywood celebrities such as Sonam, Alia and Kareena are already jumping onto the fall hairstyle bandwagon. Here are pictures of ten fall 2019 hair trends as seen on Bollywood celebrities.
1. Deep side parts
Don't worry—the centre parts of this summer (and spring, and last winter, and last fall...) still aren't going anywhere, but they're also not the cool kid anymore. This fall, get ready to see a resurgence of deep side parts, like Sonam K Ahuja's.
This fall headband trend is anything but cutesy or juvenile. You can opt for bejewelled and embellished bands like Ananya Pandey's, sweep back your hair for a cleaner look like Kangana Ranaut's or a double-band like Manushi Chillar's. To keep your style totally on-trend, you can add a little bit of texture to your hair( if it's not already curly or wavy). Blast your roots and ends with texturizing spray, then add beachy waves to your hair with a flat iron or curling wand. Tousle your hair with your fingers, slip on a headband, and boom—a grown-up fall look.
3. Face-framing tendrils
With her headband on-fleek and tendrils framing her face, Manushi is wearing two trends at once in this picture. This late '90s, early '00s trend is very much back this fall and taking over the heads of your favourite with international celebs like Kendall Jenner. You can opt thicker sections like Priyanka Chopra Jonas, or a more wispy, subtle ones like Ananya Pandey.
4. Low, sleek ponytail
The low, sleek style of ponytails for fall are anything but boring. You can add some interesting details like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, or keep it glossy and precise. To recreate this look, comb a whole bunch of pomade through your dry hair, then use a rat-tail comb to separate your hair into sections, and tie them off with a discreet hair-tie. .
5. OTT Hair Embellishment
Remember Deepika Padukone's look at the Met Gala this year? Well, OTT hair embellishments have been around for a while and they will only get bigger, quirkier and more Xtra this fall. Think embellished braids, a plethora of hair clips, and super-glam hair accessories for every occasion. Even if sticking a dozen little enamel and jewelled pins in your braid isn't exactly an everyday option this fall, you can still scatter a few crystal bobby-pins through your messy braid for a very cute finish.
6. Non-basic buns
These sculptural hairstyles are the antithesis of the messy bun. More 'work of art' than hairstyle, each of these updos incorporates loops, twists, and tucks that might take a few tries to replicate yourself this fall (sorry). Sonam K Ahuja adds some interesting details to her version, while Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut go for height. Kareena Kapoor Khan (who has shown a recent affinity to swept-back hair) adds some textural details to hers.
7. Statement braids
Braids have been having a moment since spring, and fall 2019 brings us more complex versions of this cutsy do. Fishtail, messy or mermaid, the humble braid takes on many avatars as seen on Kareena Kapoor, Ananya Pandey and Sonam K Ahuja.
8. Soft and Finger-waves
20's waves are here to 'jazz' up your look! While there are some vintage hairstyles you'd prefer to leave in the past (ahem, mullets), but for fall, the finger wave isn't one of them. It might not be the easiest of old-school styles to recreate, but these waves will have you reaching for your stash of styling sprays and clips to at least give it a try.
If you need an even easier finger-wave look for fall, try this partial wave as seen on Kangana Ranaut . Focus on creating one "S" wave along your hairline, then tuck the rest of your hair behind your ear to finish.
For a more sculptural look, opt for gelled-back waves like Kareena Kapoor Khan.
9. Crimped, crinkled and brushed out curls
Curls are having a #Major moment. Natural and free flowing like Kangana Ranaut's and Sonam K Ahuja's or brushed out like Priyanka Chopra Jonas's at the Met Gala, this fall will witness curly hair in all it's glory.
Michael Kors threw it all the way back to the days of Studio 54 for his fall runway show, and the voluminous, brushed-out curls followed the disco theme to a T. Copy it at home this fall by literally brushing out your own natural curls (Wow—such ease
). Though the crimped wave trend looks like it was the work of your '00s heat tools, it was actually created with your favourite old-school trick: a few braids pressed with a flat iron.
