The most important thing that the year 2020 has taught us is to slow down and reconsider our mindless indulgences, which also includes impulsive buys. So, if you are considering ditching new festive wear and re-wear something from the previous years, then here’s some expert advice for you. Designer Arpita Mehta, who recently opened her flagship store in Mumbai, shares some effective and stylish tips to repeat your clothes. She picks one lehengas and creates multiple looks out of it. Read on and thank us later.

Experiment with layers

"Layering is always a fool-proof way to add that extra oomph to your outfit. This cropped jacket with lehenga combo can seamlessly transition from day to night and is bound to make heads turn at any wedding," says Arpita.

Try the classic lehenga-dupatta pairing

"The lehenga-dupatta pairing is a timeless classic. The dupatta is quite versatile and can be draped in a lot of different ways. Add some jewellery and a potli bag and you’re good to go," advises Arpita.

Bring on the long jacket

"A fresh way to repurpose your lehenga is to pair it with a floor-length Anarkali jacket. This look could very easily be dressed up or down with jewellery and is perfect for those occasions when you don’t need the dupatta getting in the way of you dancing the night away," says Arpita.

Team it with a white shirt

"Want to add a twist to your traditional lehenga? Style it with a white button-down shirt to add an edge to the whole look. You can tuck it in, knot it up or drape a dupatta over it and finish the whole look with a belt- the options are abundant," she adds.
