“I have a vibrant personality, and I like to dress to match it. I especially dig gender-fluid clothes... This co-ord set by Moral Science caught my eye as soon as I walked into to the store. Moral Science is a slow-fashion label that explores fashion as a medium of storytelling. I truly feel that the clothes we wear are an extension of who we are and what values we stand for. I like to wear pieces that accentuate my personality and this particular one fits the bill perfectly. And I wear it quite often, too. Co-ord sets like this one are great as you can wear the pieces separately as well. When not donning them together, I wear the pants with a black top and boots, and the jacket over mom jeans with a plain white T-shirt. Other Indian labels that I love include Roma Narsinghani, HUEMN, Jaywalking, Nought One by Abhishek Paatni, and Naushad Ali.” Photograph: ARSH SAYED

“This Arpita Mehta piece is a fairly recent purchase. I got it during the lockdown for my brother’s wedding, so it’s really special to me. And it is completely my vibe. It’s comfortable, very ‘Indian’, and also makes a strong statement! This is the second time I am wearing it (as I haven’t had the chance to style it since the wedding), and I have paired it with a basic black dress and stilettoes here. I feel this piece is very versatile and I can’t wait to explore the different ways I can wear it. Along with Arpita Mehta, the other designers on my radar include Anamika Khanna, Nought One by Abhishek Paatni for athleisurewear, and Sahil Aneja for menswear.” Photograph: SHIVAMM PAATHAK; Make-Up: MANISH SHARMA; Hair: GAJANAN DEVALANKAR

“This embroidered jacket by Varun Bahl is very, very old—I got it some eight years ago—and it still looks so on-trend! The dusty rose colour is soft, while the embroidery is super-intricate. I wear it very often...it pairs beautifully with almost everything. I have worn it with jeans (like here), trousers, wide-leg pants, and as a blouse with both saris and lehengas. It has turned out to be quite an investment piece for me! Apart from Varun Bahl, I also love Payal Singhal, Rohit Bal, Rohit & Rahul, AM PM, and Gopi Vaid.”

“For this shoot, I have worn a four-year-old dress from a label called Chola...it is one of my favourite pieces from my wardrobe. As you can see, it has a relaxed fit and is super-comfortable. What I love about it is that it is extremely easy to dress up or down, depending on the occasion. I wear it everywhere...to work, movies, cocktails, and even just to lounge at home. Sometimes, I add a jacket or funky jewellery to jazz it up, or even layer it over a T-shirt for a casual vibe. It is simple yet makes a statement. The other Indian designers I love are Sabyasachi, Rohit Bal, Varun Bahl and Jade by Monica and Karishma.”

“I am wearing a really funky co-ord set by Falguni Shane Peacock. I first wore it when they unveiled their Summer Bride 2016 collection. I really love it because it’s bright, fun, and gives me superhero vibes! I have worn it a few different times, when I wanted to stand out and make a statement, and not take myself too seriously. And I have definitely rocked it at a superhero-themed party a couple of years ago with my winged Adidas sneakers! I have a lot of favourites when it comes to Indian designers, and I am so proud of how our industry has grown. It would be impossible to list all my favourites, but the ones I’ve worn the most include Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika, Amit Aggarwal, Shantanu & Nikhil, Punit Balana, Tarun Tahiliani, Falguni Shane Peacock, Gaurav Gupta, and Malini Ramani.” Photograph: MUSTAFA LIGHTWALA; Styling: RISHIKA DEVNANI; Make-Up: DRISHTI DESAI;

“I am someone who is always on the lookout for new and unique Indian designers. My wardrobe is a reflection of my appreciation for Indian craftsmanship and upcoming talent, coupled with high-street and premium brands. Living out of a sustainable closet has become a conscious choice for me over the past two years, and it has turned me into someone who constantly re-styles quality clothing, smartly. This linen co-ord set immediately caught my attention at the Design One Summer Edit, and I have styled it in so many ways ever since. Everyone speaks of the versatility of a white shirt, but the same applies for a draw-string dress like I’ve worn here. It’s from a Jaipur-based label called Anokhi, and I often use it as a layering piece. Homegrown fashion is truly underrated... I have discovered some truly creative labels like Geetu Pooja, Gur Organics, and Lovebirds for relaxed Indian and western silhouettes; while Anamika Khanna, Sabyasachi, and Anita Dongre are my go-to designers for festivewear.” Photograph: TIANA KAMTE

“I picked up this jumpsuit about two years ago from a multi-designer store. It’s from this label called Notebook. What attracted me to it was the easy yet structured silhouette. It perfectly transitions from a sharp corporate look to chic eveningwear by just changing up the accessories. I love throwing it on for meetings when I want to project a strong image, you know #BossLady vibes! The neutral colour palette is soothing and pairs fabulously with other shades, too. Like I said, it’s super-versatile and I have styled it in several ways...once with a cape, and this other time with a front-knotted skirt! Some of the other Indian designers that I adore are Gaurav Gupta, Bodhi Tree, Gaga by Tanya Sharma, and Payal Khandwala.”
