Jee Le Zaara
An ensemble cast movie scheduled to release in 2022, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Alia Bhatt will be the faces of this project, written and directed by the Akhtar siblings. The trio took to social media to share the news on 10th August, marking Farhan Akhtar's directorial comeback after Don 2 (2011). A road trip film, on the lines of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, the makers and cast also shared glimpses of the film.
Sooryavanshi is an upcoming Hindi-language action film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions, and Cape of Good Films. The story follows DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, the chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad. He and his team join forces with Inspector Sangram Bhalerao and DCP Bajirao Singham to stop a terrorist group planning to attack Mumbai.
Darlings is an upcoming Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Jasmeet K Reen and produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt and Gaurav Verma under the banners Red Chillies Entertainment and Eternal Sunshine Production. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles. The official announcement of the film was made on 1st March 2021 and principal photography began on 3 July 2021. The film was wrapped up on 7th September 2021.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is an upcoming Hindi-language biographical crime drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Jayantilal Gada and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film stars Alia Bhatt, along with Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari and Seema Pahwa playing Pivotal roles, and Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi featured in an extended cameo appearance. The film is loosely based on a true story, on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by S. Hussain Zaidi, which depicts the rise of a simple girl from Kathiawad who was sold into prostitution by her suitor Ramnik Lal, and how she becomes the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura.
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is an upcoming Hindi-language film directed by Karan Johar and produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios. Scheduled to release in 2022, the film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, while Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi play supporting roles. The movie was officially announced on 6th July 2021 and marks the return of producer Karan Johar to direction after 5 years.
RRR is an upcoming Telugu-language period action-drama film directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainments. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris while Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody play supporting roles. The film was formally announced in March 2018 and has been shot extensively across India, with few sequences and Ukraine and Bulgaria.
Sardar Udham Singh
Sardar Udham Singh is an upcoming Hindi-language biographical film about Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for assassinating Michael O'Dwyer in London to take revenge for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. The film stars Vicky Kaushal as Singh and is directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Rising Sun Films in collaboration with Kino Works.
Brahmāstra: Part One of Three is an upcoming Hindi-language superhero film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles. Initially announced for a 15th August 2019 release, Brahmastra was pushed to Christmas 2019 and then to Summer 2020 due to pending VFX work and shoot before the makers announced in February 2020 that its final release date will be 4th December 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, the release was further delayed.
Laal Singh Chaddha
Laal Singh Chaddha is an upcoming Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. An adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya in pivotal roles. The movie has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations, however, production was halted in March 2020 owing to the pandemic.
83 is an upcoming Hindi-language biographical sports film directed by Kabir Khan and jointly produced by Khan, Vishnuvardhan Induri, Deepika Padukone and Sajid Nadiadwala. The film depicts India's victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup under Kapil Dev's captaincy when the team defeated West Indies in the final to claim their first-ever World Cup trophy. The release has been postponed due to the pandemic.
Jersey is an upcoming Hindi-language sports drama film written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, a remake of his 2019 Telugu film with the same title. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Pankaj Kapur in lead roles. The official announcement for the film was made in October 2019, however, production was delayed due to the pandemic.
Atrangi Re is an upcoming musical, romantic drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai, starring Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar in pivotal roles. The movie is reportedly a cross-cultural love story set in Bihar and Madurai.
Maidaan is an upcoming Hindi-language biographical sports film based on the golden era of Indian football, starring Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.
Kiara Advani shared the first poster of her debut pan-India film, which is tentatively titled RC15 and SVC 50. The film marks Kiara’s first collaboration with South superstar Ram Charan, who will play the male lead. Taking to Instagram to make the official announcement, she wrote, "Excitement level beyond 💯 for my First Pan India film. My heart is filled with gratitude to be directed by the one and only @shanmughamshankar Garu and my absolutely wonderful friend and costar @alwaysramcharan produced by #DilRaju Garu.
