Well, we are in luck in 2022, because many of our favourite films are set to return to the silver screen, some after as long as a 25-year hiatus! Excited to know what film sequels you can look forward to in the coming days? Here's a list of some the most-awaited movies that will revisit worlds you love, along with their promos and release dates.

1. Avatar: The Way of Water 


This epic, science-fiction film directed by James Cameron takes us back to Pandora 13 years after the first Avtar film released. Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, this sequel tells the story of the Sully family, the trouble that follows them, the battles they fight and the tragedies they endure. The dealy comes due to the necessity to develop new technology in order to film performance capture scenes underwater. Excited? So are we!

Top Gun Maverick 

After more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell is still working as a test pilot, dodging any advancement in rank that would ground him. Maverick follows Pete's journey as he trains a detachment of graduates for a special assignment, confronting the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears. Top Gun fans are delighted that they get to revisit the much-loved world of this cult-favourite film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Marvel's upcoming superhero film based on the character of Black Panther is intended as a sequel to Black Panther. While not much is known about the storyline yet, it promises to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman and his iconic Black Panther character. 

Release Date: November 2022

Thor: Love and Thunder 


Intended to be a direct sequel to Thor: Ragnarok this film is set in the MCU (Marvel Cinimatic Universe) and written and directed by Taika Waititi. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor attempts to find inner peace, but must return to action and recruit Valkyrie, Korg and Jane Foster—who has become the Mighty Thor.

Jurrasic World Domination 


The future of mankind hangs in the balance as humans and dinosaurs coexist following the destruction of Isla Nublar. This next installment in the much-loved nineties Jurrasic Park franchise is being eagerly awaited by the cult fans of the films.
