If you love movies, you will love these handles even more.

For me, out of the many reasons, one was to see more of Safeena - introduced to us as a woman who was ready to beat the living daylight out of any girl trying to toy with her boyfriend. What we saw through the teasers was just a glimpse of her caliber - a feisty girl with a temper. The movie on the other hand flaunts her whole persona in a very forthright manner. Mind you, she is not a saint! While Murad as a character highlights the predicaments of the youth belonging to the ghetto areas, Safeena speaks the story of women with free souls and aspirations who are fettered by conscious of their own families, let alone society. There’s a bridge that divides her world from Murad’s and at the same time links her to him. If you've watched the movie, you might say the bridge vaguely represents the difference in their social status. What’s awe-inspiring is she’s not afraid to cross any bridge for him, be it day or night! In my opinion, she’s the strongest character in the movie, fighting for what she wants even if that means she has to face backlash from her own people or break a head or two. A fierce lover with a soft heart and a brave woman with an almost wilful temper - that’s Safeena for you. And women like her do exist in all their vice and glory. Alia has done a stellar job in giving a structure to this character. Every emotion was rendered so soulfully that I felt a connection with Safeena while watching her on screen, even though I’m nowhere as feisty as her. I’m not going to forget this character any time soon and all thanks to Alia and Zoya for weaving Safeena with so much zest and life.
