“Cry Me a River”: Hailey Bieber breaks silence with bold messages to haters

Hailey Bieber has caught the internet’s attention with a string of bold, cryptic Instagram Story posts that seem to reflect both her current state of mind and, perhaps, her relationship with husband Justin Bieber. On May 15, the model and Rhode Skin founder reposted a quote on her Instagram Story that read: “Did all that hating & gossiping about me & still couldn’t stop NOTHING. I’ll be madd too.” Adding her own stamp to the sentiment, she wrote above the quote, “Retweet!”

But this wasn’t her only recent retort. Just a day earlier, Hailey had shared a handwritten note—seemingly pulled from an old journal still bearing her maiden name “Baldwin”—that read: "Cry me a river, build me a bridge and get over it," which she captioned: "Relevant!"

Back in March, Hailey made a similar statement by posting another quote on Instagram Stories that addressed how outsiders often misinterpret her life: “People take the information they’re fed and they draw a picture of who you are. Most of the time, it’s wrong.”

Hailey’s posts come at a time when Justin Bieber’s emotionally vulnerable social media activity has raised questions among fans and insiders about his mental health and the state of their marriage. Adding to the noise, rumours continue to swirl around the couple, especially involving Hailey’s supposed feud with Justin’s ex, Selena Gomez. After a TikToker claimed she liked a video shading Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco, Hailey's rep told E! News, “This never happened. This entire story has been fabricated by a content creator looking to capitalize off of an old, tired narrative.”

Justin, for his part, hasn’t stayed silent either. On April 24, the “Peaches” singer directly addressed critics on his Instagram Story, writing: “Honestly if I was u, it would be hard not to be jealous of me and Hailey going brazzzzyy. It’s really up for us and that’s understandable why people can’t stand it.”

He added, “I don’t blame ’em. Hailey and I are the Jones’s that are impossible to keep up with.”
