We blame Netflix for giving us all the unrealistic expectations—both in our love life and at work. One moment we're dreaming of a regency-themed romance with a dashing viscount and the next, it's a fancy marketing job that exports us to the cobblestoned lanes of Paris (and sometime thereafter, to Rome). If you're not already clued in, we're talking about Bridgerton and Emily in Paris, although they ought to call it Emily in Rome at this point.
These two shows have become the ultimate comfort watches with their dreamy locations, swoon-worthy love stories, and plots that are just the right mix of outlandish and addictive. On one hand, you’ve got a front-row seat to Emily’s chaotic (yet somehow fabulous) life in Europe, complete with couture-fuelled meltdowns and countless this-would-never-happen-in-real-life moments. And then there’s Bridgerton and its corset-clad world of high society, where every stolen glance and scandalous affair is front-page news—just ask Lady Whistledown. Whether you’re watching Emily hashtag her way through heartbreak in designer heels or gasping as Lady Whistledown outs yet another secret rendezvous, there's no denying that these shows have kept audiences coming back season after season. And if you thought the show(s) were over, you are wrong because your favourite Netflix shows have been renewed for new seasons, and we're here to give you all the scoop.
Emily in Paris Season 5: Bonjour, Minnie Driver
Our beloved marketing exec is back and this time, she's swapping the croissants for carbonara, taking the drama with her to Rome. After that rollercoaster of a Season 4 finale, Emily (Lily Collins) is off on a romantic Italian escape with her new beau Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). Obviously, it wouldn’t be Emily in Paris without some romantic turbulence; Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) is still in the picture, and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) is back as a series regular—yes, we’re entering another love triangle, or is it a square at this point?
But the big news? Minnie Driver is joining the cast as Princess Jane, a powerful, fashion-forward royal who also happens to be Sylvie’s old friend. From what we're told, you can expect some major palace-level drama with elegance and attitude in equal parts. Sadly, Camille (Camille Razat) won't be returning to the series, hinting at a possible end (or pause) to her storyline. But the core crew—Mindy (Ashley Park), Luc (Bruno Gouery), and Julien (Samuel Arnold)—are all coming back too, which means rooftop soirées, office spats, and viral musical numbers are guaranteed. With dreamy Italian backdrops, a royal wildcard, and Emily’s usual couture chaos, Season 5 is shaping up to be a très chic mess—and honestly, we can't wait!
Bridgerton Season 4: Benedict Briderton's Cinderella story
There's Anthony girls, there's Colin girls, and then there's Benedict girls. And if you, like me, fall into the third category and feel like you've been waiting for aeons for Benedict Bridgerton's love story, you're not alone. Get ready to break out your opera gloves and grab your dance cards, because Bridgerton Season 4 is releasing in 2026, and this time it’s Benedict’s turn to romance. Yes, the dreamy second Bridgerton brother is all set to meet a mysterious maid, Sophie Beckett (Yerin Ha), at a masquerade ball. Think Cinderella vibes, but steamier. The new season, based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman, promises an emotional, fairytale-esque romance, with a deeper look into class, identity, and—of course—plenty of scandal.
Joining the cast is Katie Leung (from Harry Potter) as the icy and sharp-tongued Lady Araminta Gao—aka Sophie’s wicked stepmother—and her two daughters, Rosamund and Posy, played by Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei, respectively. As for the Bridgerton bunch, many of your faves are back, including Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Colin (Luke Newton), Kate (Simone Ashley), and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey). However, don’t expect appearances from Regé-Jean Page or Phoebe Dynevor this time around. The best part? Netflix isn’t done yet—the show has already been renewed through Season 6. So if you're already obsessed with the ton, just know the drama, romance, and orchestral Taylor Swift covers are far from over.
