Broccoli Coffee Is the Hottest New Health Drink in Town...

Broccoli — one of the most hated and loved members of the vegetable family. It’s full of vital nutrients like proteins, vitamins, and fibre. And although this superfood is recommended by most health specialists, a lot of people frown down upon it. But turns out, it can now be consumed in a new avatar— Broccoli Coffee.

Just when you thought coffee trends couldn’t get any crazier, enter the broccoli latte. You might be asking why we would suggest such an outrage, but it could help address two very real challenges: poor diets and food loss. Poor diets—Our research shows two-thirds of Australian adults to not eat enough vegetables. Broccoli contains protein, fibre and health-promoting bioactive phytochemicals, making it an ideal candidate for being turned into a powder ingredient. The powder packs a healthy punch with approximately one serve of your five a day vegetables in every two tablespoons of powder. Food loss—Since over one-third of all food produced globally is lost or wasted, much of it, in our society at least, due to 'imperfect looking crops', it only made sense to use these perfectly healthy veggies in a product like our broccoli powder. #csiro #coffee #latte #broccoli #research #environment #waronwaste #environment #diet

Nope, we’re not joking. Powdered broccoli mixed with coffee powder is the latest health drink to hit the markets, and people are losing their minds over it. Invented by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), in Australia, the drink was mainly introduced to help people eat more vegetables. (Remind you of the time your mom would put extra magic masala or cheese in vegetables to make you eat them?)

The low-calorie vegetable is usually hated upon by people, so this coffee may make sense, just like its predecessors — Avocado Coffee, Carrot Latte, and Mushroom Coffee. So, for those who want to get healthier but don’t like eating their greens, try this new fad and see if it works!
