For over a century, L’Oréal Professionnel has helped define how hair is created, cared for, and imagined. Founded in 1909, the brand has evolved alongside the professional hairdressing industry, continually adapting to new ideas, technologies, and creative shifts. Now, it marks a significant new chapter with the launch of its first Global Creative Contributors crew, a collective designed not to represent the brand, but to actively build its future.
This new initiative reframes what partnership looks like in the modern beauty landscape. Rather than traditional ambassadors, the Global Creative Contributors are long-term collaborators, chosen for their technical mastery, creative point of view, and deep commitment to the craft. Spanning salon expertise, editorial work, education, celebrity styling, backstage fashion, and digital storytelling, the crew reflects the many realities of today’s global hair industry.
By bringing together talent from across continents, L’Oréal Professionnel aims to create a shared creative ecosystem where innovation is translated into practical tools for professionals worldwide. As Claire Le Bleis, Global Brand President of L’Oréal Professionnel, explains, “We partner with the industry’s most innovative and avant-garde talents worldwide, not as ambassadors, but as contributors. Our ambition is to explore what’s ahead of the curve and help shape the future of professional hair.”
Among the contributors is Indian celebrity hairstylist Amit Thakur, who brings a distinctly cinematic Indian sensibility to the global stage. “It’s both an honour and a responsibility to represent Indian hair artistry worldwide,” Thakur shares, calling the role a defining milestone in his journey.
The crew also includes globally influential figures such as Malcolm Marquez, whose sculptural approach to hair treats it as art. Colour innovators like Ben Gregory, Brandon Pietsch, and Jack Martin sit alongside editorial visionaries such as Jawara Wauchope, Mustafa Yanaz, Cesar Deleon Ramirez, Kevin Jacotot, Washington Nunnes, Jacob Habib Khan, Devi Mark, Adina Pignatare, Min Kim, Jack Martin, and Cyndia Harvey, each pushing the boundaries of technique, identity, and representation. “It’s inspiring to contribute my voice to a global vision that values authentic expression,” says Wauchope.
Together, L’Oréal Professionnel and its Global Creative Contributors are building more than trends. They are creating a platform where creativity is purposeful, education is central, and innovation serves the professional community. In doing so, the brand reinforces its legacy not just as a product innovator, but as a cultural force shaping the future of hair, one idea, one technique, and one collaboration at a time.
