We have all pampered our skin with extensive beauty routines and nourishing treatments, but when was the last time you showed your feet some love? We’re all about skincare routines that help us glow from head to toe, well head to face mostly. But here’s the thing: your feet are the unsung heroes of your body, tirelessly supporting you through long days, high heels, and those impromptu dance-offs at weddings. They deserve a little luxury too. Enter the foot facials! Like a regular facial, these exfoliate and hydrate your feet, leaving them looking and feeling fresh and fabulous. Trust us, your soles will thank you for it.

Here's everything you need to know about this treatment and why deserves to be a part of your self-care routine, stat.

“A foot facial is a must to keep your feet in top shape, especially after a long day of being on your feet or wearing shoes that cause discomfort. It’s an essential part of personal care,” shares Sneh Koticha Contractor, director at Jean-Claude Biguine Salon & Spa. This treatment helps rejuvenate tired feet and prevents infections and calluses, so you can wear your favourite shoes comfortably, without worry.

Your feet bear the brunt of daily activities like walking, running, and standing for hours, making foot care essential. Foot facials do more than smooth rough skin—they help prevent common foot issues like fungal infections, calluses, and cracks, while restoring balance and softness to the skin. Sana Dhanani, founder of The White Door, explains, “If you wear heels or spend a lot of time on your feet, a foot facial helps ease the pressure, reduce pain, and promote relaxation. It’s not just about softening the skin; it’s about rejuvenating the feet after all that stress.”

Foot facials are perfect for anyone looking to pamper their feet, but they’re especially beneficial for those who wear tight shoes, stand for long periods, or deal with cracked heels and rough skin. Regular treatments can keep your feet healthy and comfortable, whether you're a busy professional, a parent, or an athlete.

Whether you need relief from discomfort caused by calluses and cracked heels, or simply want to maintain healthy, smooth feet, foot facials are a vital part of any self-care routine. They promote circulation, help with swelling, and provide lasting benefits for your feet. “Foot facials aren’t just a luxury; they’re necessary for anyone who spends long hours on their feet or wears uncomfortable shoes. Regular treatments can help keep your feet healthy and happy,” says Samir Srivastav, CEO of Looks Salon.

How often should you get it done?

Foot facials are highly beneficial, but they don’t need to be a weekly ritual. For most people, once a month is sufficient to keep your feet in top condition. However, if your lifestyle involves wearing heels often or standing for long periods, you may benefit from more frequent treatments every two to three weeks.

As Srivastav puts it, "Ideally, once a month is great, but if you feel your feet need extra attention, you can go for a foot facial every two to three weeks." Regular foot facials help keep your feet soft, healthy, and free from discomfort, preventing potential issues before they arise.

Can you do it at home?

While a professional treatment is ideal, you can also perform foot facials at home with the right products. Foot scrubs, hydrating masks, and nourishing creams can offer a similar experience, leaving your feet soft and refreshed without the need for a salon visit. “At-home treatments are a great alternative. With the right products, you can still achieve great results and keep your feet in top condition every day,” Dhanani shares.

With the right tools, such as a good scrub and hydrating mask, you can easily maintain healthy, smooth feet between professional treatments. Recreate a spa-like experience at home, making foot care a seamless part of your routine.
