Now You Can See What a Lipstick Will Look Like on, Without Having to Try it IRL

...and it's all thanks to Facebook Messenger

Facebook have just made our beauty shopping SO much easier. Yep, the days of rummaging through gross makeup testers in the aisles of Boots and Superdrug - or being hassled at a fancy beauty counter - are officially over.

Now you can try on makeup from the comfort of your computer screen. How? There's a new beauty bot that you can use over Facebook messenger. The handy helper, can photoshop a specific lipstick onto your lips - so you can see if it'll suit you (we're talking realistic results here, it's not another dodgy makeover app that doesn't *actually* work). It then sends the pic back to you along with a direct link to buy the lippie, if you so wish.

Here's how it works...

The makeover bot is run by beauty app, ModiFace, and the 'facebook x lipstick try-on service' is a condensed version of the full makeover service they run through their website, where you can try on eyeshadow, foundation shades and even hairstyles (although some of them are a tad cringe).

I decided to give the beauty bot a go, it's gotta be easier than rummaging through beauty counters, right?

I began by opening up a Facebook message with the ModiFace page, it then prompted me to send over a lipstick colour or makeup brand that I liked. I decided to play it safe and opted for 'red'. The bot then sent over a couple of red lipsticks and glosses for me to choose from, including the likes of Bobbi Brown and Shiseido, I selected the a coral-red, NARS lipstick names, Red Lizard. The bot then requested I send over a headshot, and once it had received my selfie, it got to work, photoshopping. Within a matter of seconds it replied with a picture of me wearing the NARS lippie, along with a link to buy if I wanted. Snazzy huh?
