Emma Stone Is the New Punk-Rock Cruella De Vil.

In one of the biggest revelations to fans, Walt Disney Studio posted the first look of actor Emma Stone as Cruella de Vil in Cruella. Nothing like we’ve ever seen her before, the Oscar-winning actor looks every inch the infamous character—complete with the signature black-and-white unruly hair and red lipstick—in the first image of the live-action adaptation to 101 Dalmatians.

Set to hit the theatres on May 28, 2021, the film also stars Emma Thompson, as well as Paul Walter Hauser and Joel Fry (also seen in the image) as the villainess’ notorious henchmen Horace and Jasper. Stone’s bold new look as the the fur coat-obsessed, dog-hating antagonist, threw the fans in a tizzy! 

“Emma Stone’s #Cruella can step on my neck and I will thank her for the opportunity,” wrote @Justjoeyjoeyjo. “Wow the rumours were true, she’ll kill it as Cruella!” said @cameronsheda.

The role has previously been played (and made hugely popular) by actress Glenn Close.  Definitely not an easy act to follow. “Was Glenn Close all booked up?” wrote @sncrly_eccntrc. “Just bring back Glenn Close,” opined @Kenny_Diaz.

While the Internet continues to be abuzz with opinions, suggestions and debates around it, all we can say is that, from the looks of it, this one certainly makes it to the top five in our ‘most-awaited films’ list for 2020-21.
