Lisa Haydon is pregnant with her third child and the model-turned-actor surely knows how to stylishly dress her bump. She shows you what to wear when you are pregnant and do not want to invest in maternity wear. The truth is while some buy dresses for this joyous phase in their lives, many do not want to invest in pieces that they can’t wear beyond pregnancy because they look dull, frumpy and too big.

Invest in body hugging stretchy dresses

Lisa put up pictures of her on Instagram in a green, ribbed and stretchable bodycon dress and wrote in the caption: “It’s taken three pregnancies to figure out how to dress my bump. And I still find it quite a struggle sometimes. Some might say I don’t wear much when I’m pregnant and that is also true. I have subscribed to “if nothing fits don’t wear it”, in the past. However, after 4 consecutive years of shape shifting and, this most likely to be my last pregnancy, I thought to talk about what’s worked for me. This is a dress I wear for most of our evening going out type of occasions. It’s super stretchy and one of the few things I bought this pregnancy. I’ve mainly worn stuff that will work with and without a bump to ensure everything is usable long term.”

Look for dresses in relaxed fit

The short white, easy breezy dress from Zara that Lisa wore can be styled with a waist cinching belt after the baby is out. Lisa captioned the photo as: “Didn’t get to post my full story today- duty called! This dress has fit from non pregnant life, till now, almost 9months pregnant and beyond.”

Fitted on top, roomy below

It’s a good idea to get dresses that are fitted up top for definition but have a bit of wiggle room below to comfortably let your bump breathe. Smocked dresses work well or something like Lisa’s black dress is just perfect.

Skip maternity swimsuits

When it comes to swimsuits, there are basically two kinds...one that covers the bump and the other that doesn't. Instead of investing in a maternity swimsuit that would have no use for you later on, get a bikini instead like Lisa Haydon so that there is nothing restricting the belly. A string bikini like Lisa's is adaptable to a growing belly. It's adjustable and works well when the bump is growing.

Look the jumpsuits way

It's easy to get into a jumpsuit and you don't even have to bother about what to pair it with. And it works well at home, while running an errand in town or by a beach or a pool. Get two sizes bigger than yours, which will have room for the growing belly.

Do not miss out on the slip dresses

A roomier slip dress should be a good bet. It looks uber cool and has the stamp of approval of many celebs including Lisa.
