5 jewellery trends you'll see everywhere this autumn, and how to style them in your existing wardrobe

It's time to raid your nan's jewellery box.

We’ve lived through the era of minimalist accessories – hello, cord necklaces and tiny gold hoops – and we’re now officially out the other side. This season is all about glitz and glamour, dialled all the way up. That said, don’t expect anything really new. Instead, the most exciting designers looked backwards, digging into the archives for autumn/winter’s jewellery moodboard, with grandparents’ jewellery boxes offering a treasure trove of inspiration.

Think: a classic string of pearls blown up to XXL proportions, charms decorating everything from bracelets to necklaces (and even earrings, if your lobes can take the weight), and the age-old brooch making yet another return. Our love for vintage finds clearly knows no bounds. Still, there are a couple of new-season shifts worth noting — like the move from gold to silver tones.

So whether you’re looking to elevate an everyday outfit (yes, even a simple jeans-and-tee combo hits different with the right jewellery), invest in a forever piece, or lean into the nostalgic pull of these trends, here are the ones to watch. And remember: vintage shops might just be the best place to track them down if you're after that truly authentic touch.

Big pearl energy

Pearl lovers, rejoice, as the natural wonder is back in the limelight and it's had a supersize injection. Chanel, always a lover of pearls, strung XXL strands around model's necks and across bag straps while Vaquera took the old-fashioned string and gave it a much more modern upgrade. Again, we're taking notes from the older generation, but making it more our own. And whether you're shopping for freshwater, Akoya, or even faux finds, there's no shortage of options.

Charmed

The charm bracelet’s comeback has been bubbling for a few seasons, but for autumn/winter 25 it’s gone into overdrive – spilling off our wrists and onto pretty much everything else. At Chloé, charms dangled from belts, bags and bracelets, while Zimmermann piled necklaces high with trinkets for a “more is more” moment. Whether you’re stacking up Pandora keepsakes or hunting down vintage treasures, it’s officially time to lean into the little extras.

Statement silver

Gold has long reigned supreme as the jewellery tone of choice, but this season it's all about silver – whatever route you go down. McQueen made a case for OTT silver earrings while Sarah Burton's Givenchy debut gave us a striking silver top (in the loosest of senses) with bright and bold gemstones hidden inside. But before you go packing all your gold away, remember there's nothing cooler than clashing metals.

It's cuffing season

It’s officially cuffing season — and not just in the dating sense. On the runways, Louis Vuitton and Chanel proved that chunky bracelets are very much on the agenda. From glossy gold to bold resin and everything in between, these wrist-huggers come in every shade and texture imaginable, and they're one of the easiest ways to liven up any outfit.

Bring on the brooch

No jewellery item is as under-appreciated as the brooch, and yet it can be worn in a limitless number of ways. Tory Burch proves it looks chic on a shoe, Prada perked up knitwear with a chunky pearly adorned needle, and we've all seen them livening up a lapel. So, with our love for all things vintage – and a good push from the runways – autumn is officially the season we bring back the brooch. No longer are they reserved for only our grans.
