With the 2025 Met Gala red carpet done and dusted, your favourite celebrities switched gears and let their hair down by slipping into outfits that are a little more ~comfortable~.
While we love the OTT lewks we saw earlier in the night, featuring dresses with trains longer than cars and gloriously impractical accessories, we have to admit, they're not exactly made for dancing. And after such a long evening of posing for the cameras, it's no surprise that all these celebs wanna do is get down and boogie.
If you think the best looks are saved for the main event though, wait until you see the after-party 'fits. If past years are anything to go by, the outfits on display are truly a sight to behold. We're talking Kendall Jenner cosplaying an IRL angel last year and Lily James' 2022 take on Liz Hurley's iconic safety pin dress.
We're pleased to report, this year sees more of the same. It might actually be wilder than ever – look to Janelle Monae, who heard ‘naked dressing’ and ditched a top entirely in favour of an underbust corset and nipple pasties. No shirt? No problem (apparently). And Jenna Ortega, who took inspo from her bestie Sabrina Carpenter's red carpet look and ditched her trousers in a leotard suit while *still* staying true to this year's Met theme.
Don't just take our word for it though. Scroll through to check out the must-see after-party outfits from the 2025 Met Gala and years prior, too:
After revealing she is pregnant with her third child, Rihanna took ‘bump reveal’ up a notch in a stomach-flashing all black ensemble.
Jenna Ortega took inspo from her bestie Sabrina Carpenter's red carpet look and ditched her trousers in a leotard suit that stayed true to this year's Met theme.
Meanwhile, 'Brina covered up in a shirt, tie and suit trousers layered under an OTT faux fur yellow maxi coat.
Exhibit A that some of the most naked Met Gala looks come at the after-party: Janelle Monae in an underbust pinstripe corset and anchor-motif nipple pasties.
Kendall Jenner was giving very demure, very mindful in her after-party look following the 2025 Met Gala
Kendall Jenner wowed on the red carpet in a vintage Alexander McQueen for Givenchy dress and she kept the theme going with her after-party look. Her angelic winged corset and satin high-low skirt was from Givenchy's Spring/Summer 1997 collection, again when the late British fashion designer was at the helm of the fashion house.
Why have one after-party 'fit when you can have two? In true icon behaviour, Kendall Jenner switched up her post-Met look in a custom Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood white lace mini dress with a seriously plunging neckline. Stunning!
Speaking of archival Givenchy, EmRata followed Kendall Jenner's lead in a naked dress with a beaded tassel collar and hem from Alexander McQueen's spring/summer 1998 collection for the French fashion house. She wore bejewelled black lingerie under the totally transparent design.
