Edna Emme—The Flagbearer of TRESemmé

Over time the beauty industry has grown manifold and impacted all of us in one way or another. But have you ever wondered about the people responsible for the growth and shaping of this industry?

Today we celebrate a prominent person responsible for sculpting TRESemmé, Edna L. Emme. The founder of the National Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association, Edna was elected as the President of the group five times. Beside her talents, her contributions moulded the face of the industry and her tireless efforts steered it to greater heights.

While working as a hairdresser at her sister’s salon, Edna understood the importance of great hair. She realised people exuded confidence when their hair looked fabulous. Her clear vision and great understanding in the field helped her realise her dream of bringing professional hair care products right at everybody’s home.

Nobody managed to unearth the power of great hair like Edna did. She said, “If a women is feeling low in her mind, a trip to the beauty shop will pep her up every time.”

Edna went against all the tides and built this empire when less than 15% of management roles in the U.S. workforce were held by women. She didn’t just carve her own path but became a pillar of light for a lot of other women.

Her display of intelligence and determination makes her the perfect role model for today’s inspiring modern woman.

Watch how she carved the spectacular brand, TRESemmé, all by herself:
